This 55-year-old parade represents an act of cultural affirmation in L.I. It is the largest parade in L.I. The Puerto Rican community has been around for generations. The parade also serves for community integration as it invites new Latin American immigrants to parade with their traditional dances. In 2014 the parade was about to be lost due to a lack of cultural leadership and government support. The community asked us to produce the parade to save this tradition together. . TEY organizes over 75 dance groups and floats with a participation of 3,000 people parading and an audience of 30,000.
